Hypermotive’s experience and knowledge means that we are well placed to support or lead your electric vehicle or fuel cell vehicle integration programmes. We understand the technical challenges, the standards and regulations and how to address them safely and pragmatically.
We have a highly experienced team of engineers and technicians, most of whom have more than 10 years experience with electrical systems design, fuel cells, or batteries.
We have facilities in Lutterworth (UK), Northampton (UK) and Großostheim (Germany), including over 8000ft2 of workshop and manufacturing space with capacity to support programmes from 1 to 20,000-off.
Hypermotive was founded by Adam Huckstep (Chief Executive Officer) and Jeremy Bowman (Chief Technology Officer) in June 2016 in office 0.04 at the UK’s Horiba-MIRA Proving Ground.
The senior management team of Brad O’Nians (Manufacturing Director), Liz Harber (Operations and Programmes Director) joined soon after, helping to grow the capability and grow the team. All of the founding members previously held senior positions in automotive, aerospace, motorsport and fuel cell companies prior to joining Hypermotive, bringing a wealth of experience into the business.
Initially established as a consultancy to assist in the application of hydrogen fuel cell technologies into automotive applications, the scope of the company quickly grew to encompass other zero emission technologies including batteries and supercapacitors.
In 2017 the wiring systems business was formed under Brad’s leadership and now operates from a 6500 square foot custom facility in Northampton, delivering world class harness and electrical products to Formula 1 teams and global OEM’s alike.
As our client base continued to grow, so did the need to further serve our clients across Europe. In 2020 Hypermotive GmbH was formed to bring us closer to our European customers and partners.
Fast forward to today, we now have over 100 clients across 4 continents and are well known throughout the eMobility industry for successfully delivering complex engineering and products that enable our clients to realise their projects on time and within budget.
We service multiple sectors including commercial vehicle, automotive, off-highway, rail, marine, motorsport and aerospace.
Our rapid growth reflects both the significant global market drive towards zero emissions technologies and Hypermotive’s comprehensive engineering and manufacturing capability to deliver.
Our capability covers all areas of electrical systems design and manufacture from concept, through prototype, to series production including:
