Hypermotive CTO Jeremy Bowman in Ankara at Turkiye Rail Forum
Hypermotive CTO Jeremy Bowman is in Ankara, Türkiye today at the 4th UK – Türkiye Rail Forum. The United Kingdom and Türkiye have collaborated in the rail sector for decades, this being the 160th anniversary of the first British locomotive used between İzmir & Aydın and the 150th anniversary of the Istanbul Tunnel, the world’s second metro system, completed with British engineering.
As Türkiye looks to hydrogen as a energy source for rail, where the challenges of conventional electrification over long distances poses a threat to decarbonisation of rail, the forum dedicates the entire afternoon to presentations from companies with capabilities in Hydrogen.
Owing to our involvement in Porterbrook’s HydroFLEX 2, providing the connectivity and control systems for the hydrogen fuel cells and gas storage systems, we are well placed to support new rail projects using hydrogen and fuel cells with our Hypercore range of controllers H:CONTROL, H:STORE and H:INTERFACE.
Tomorrow, delegates will visit the TUBITAK RUTE campus near Istanbul to see the facilities available for rail technology development where new technologies such as hydrogen power will be developed, commissioned, tested and deployed.
Are you looking to deploy hydrogen on heavy transport, stationary power or industrial applications? Get in touch to find out how our Hypercore products can accelerate your project.
